From personal experience, I can say that joining a Markers Club is a fantastic way to get started with Stampin' Up! products. I had one Ink Pad prior to joining a club, and loved that by joining a Markers Club I had access to all the awesome colours as card and ink within a few months. I then slowly built up my Ink pads as I was able to.
My creativeJax Markers Club runs over 4 months and costs $99.97 per month. Products purchased include the complete set of Stampin' Write Markers (48) and matching card stock from all colour collections (50 colours).
Read about the Club details, including other benefits.
The Stampin' Write Markers are dual tipped. A 0.5 mm fine point (for details and journaling) and a flexible brush (for colouring images and inking stamps). They are odorless, acid-free and use a water-based dye ink. The finger grips on cap allow for easy cap removal. These markers are the same colours as the Stampin' Up! Ink Pads and can be used instead of Ink Pads in most instances.
By joining a Markers Club you will have the full set of colours to stamp without having to purchase all the Ink Pads as quickly. You will receive the Stampin' Write Makers storage box to store markers on their sides which keeps ink evenly distributed between both tips. You will have matching card stock to make many gorgeous cards or other paper craft items in any colour you could want. You will also get Stampin' Up! products to the value of at least $55 in one of the four months that the club runs.
I highly recommend joining a Markers Club and will run as many as are neded - I'll start a club as soon as I have 4 people signed up to it.

Tip / Tutorial A couple of Quick Techniques with Markers |
For a soft watercolour look, outline your image with a Stampin' Write Marker, and then use a Blender Pen, Aqua Painter, or water-dampened watercolour brush to pull and blend the marker colours into the area you desire. this works best on watercolour paper. You can see of video of this technique HERE. You can custom-colour images by colouring directly on the stamp. Use the flexible brush tip on its side to shade and blend colours right on the rubber. The fine point lets you easily colour small areas of the stamp. You can also omit parts of the design by colouring only those features you want to stamp.
See a video for this technique HERE. Even though the stamp set in the video is no longer available, the presenter has some great practical tips and the video is not too long - under 4 minutes. |
