March
Newsletter

Hi

March already! - WOW - that means it's the last month of SALE-A-Bration already!

Firstly - My apologies for the lack of newsletters and contact.
As my regular class attendees know, I had sinus surgery in late January. I knew this January surgery date before Christmas and had to wait on CT and MRI results and surgeon availability. Not being sure what the problem was was one of the reasons we had a very quiet Festive Season. Am pleased to report that things were much better than the specialist's initial diagnosis and I am recovering well.

Surgery and healing time has meant things like Newsletters, my Blog and keeping in touch with people have taken a back seat. I managed to hold most of my February classes last week which meant I saw many of my regular stamping friends - yay! I have certainly been touched by the care and concern shown to me by those aware of what was going go - thanks!

Not that February was all doom and gloom!
Roy and I had a friend visit from Canada. We lived in Regina, Saskatchewan for 2 years in the late '80s, and returned there together after 25 years last March. This prompted one of our dear friends, Nonie, to organise her first ever visit to New Zealand. While I couldn't join her on all her travels as we'd originally planned, she had an "amazing", and very busy, holiday with my sister and Roy. I did get to join them for a few days which was great.

So March sees me much healed and getting back to normality - whatever that may actually be.

I am in the process of organising a Stampin' Up! Extravaganza which will be held in the middle of July. The Extravaganza will be a day event where five classes will be taught by different demonstrators from the wider Stampin' Up! Team that I am part of. This has been in the planning stage for a few months and I had hoped to hold it later this month but postponed it due to my surgery. So save the date - Saturday 18th July - and I'll provide you with more retails in the coming Newsletters.

I was super excited that registration for the Stampin' Up! Convention opened this week. This is being held in the Gold Coast at the end of April. I now have flights, accommodation and registration sorted! Convention is one of the highlights of the year and this will be my third. I am looking forward to having some of my thINK Creative Team members at Convention with me - yay!  (ps It's not too late to get to convention - get in touch if you're interested in joining me in the Gold Coast!)

News - Blendabilities

After temporarily suspending sales of Stampin' Blendabilities Markers last week, Stampin' Up! have now announced that the Blendabilites product range is discontinued.

The full colour range of Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and the Color Lifter are no longer available for purchase.

The Tuxedo Black Memento Pad and Refill are still available to purchase.

A large percentage of the Blendabilities markers have a product fault which can lead to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.  The high fail-rate was unacceptable and the manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that will meet Stampin’ Up!’s high quality standards; one that will provide a stable, long-term solution.  Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation, the Blendabilities product line has been discontinued.

The good news is that Stampin’ Up! have learned that alcohol-based markers are very popular with everyone.  Knowing that you’ve enjoyed all of the colouring options provided by alcohol-based markers helps Stampin’ Up! chart a course for finding a reliable product line that will truly meet our needs.

Please note that not all Blendabilities markers are defective, most work as intended, and Stampin' Up! asks that you used your best judgement to determine whether the product you have received is in good condition or if you need a refund.

I personally have at least one set of each of the available sets and have not had any that have been dry.

While I am disappointed that we no longer have alcohol markers in our current range, I am proud to be associated with a company that is prepared to make the hard decisions and stop selling a product if it does not meet the expected standard. I am also pleased that Stampin' Up! is researching replacement products.

If you have purchased Blendabilities that are working as intended - then keep enjoying them - mine will continue to get lots of use!

If you have purchased and received Blendabilities markers through me and they are defective, please contact me before 15 June 2015 to arrange a full refund of the purchase price and shipping or to organise an exchange.

Please send me an email or give me a call if you have any concerns or questions

Colouring on Vellum

Those of you that come to class know that I love adding ink in a variety of ways -  not just with stamps and inkpads. And even though Blendabilities are no longer available - there are still many other colouring options available.

In this is a video by US demonstrator - Patty Bennett - several different methods to colour vellum are mentioned. How many different ways does she mention?
I'm also going to post the link to this video on my CreativeJax Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/creativeJax).
Pop on over, leave me a comment with the answer - then you'll go into the draw to win a pack of the Sheer Perfection Vellum!

Remember, if you would like to host a workshop at your place (or mine) I'd love to hear from you. You will have a fun time with friends, get a handmade project as a gift from me, everyone gets to make something and you may earn free Stampin' Up! products as the hostess. SALE-A-BRATION is an especially good time to host a Stampin' Up! workshop!

Just drop me an email at jackie@creativejax.co.nz or give me a call/text at 027 348 3901 and we can arrange a Party time!

And do think about joining my thINK creative Team - being a demo is great!

If you have any feedback or questions for me please email me at jackie@creativejax.co.nz

And again - thank you so much for your interest and support.

Until next time

Jackie
